Electricity System Update #5
As at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, July 4, 2021, LUCELEC had restored power to 99% of customers following the passage of Hurricane Elsa on Friday, July 2. All of the high-tension repair and restoration work has been completed.
There remain some small pockets of customers across the island that are still without power as a result of localized faults. We hope to restore most of these areas later today. LUCELEC crews and contractors are working systematically and diligently to resolve each of the individual fault reports we have received.
The Company understands that customers with these isolated faults have been without power for at least 48 hours since Hurricane Elsa passed through, and thanks these customers for their continued patience as we seek to restore power as safely and as quickly as possible.
Still without power?
Isolated faults outlast the main restoration. Call the trouble line for your side of the island — and keep trying if the lines are busy.
